Lillie Mae (White) Fullen Walton, 81, of Knightstown, Ind., formerly of Fairland, Ind., passed from this life to the next at Hancock Regional Hospital on Aug. 20, 2025. Born Dec. 6, 1943, to Johnnie and Lillie “Gertie” (Lyons) White, Lil grew up in Deerlick just outside of Lewisburg. She was the 11th of 12 children and was preceded in death by her parents as well as five sisters (Myrtle Pogue, Viola Lyons, Margie Farmer, Evelyn Olinger and Betty Joines) and four brothers (Ed, Willie, Elmer, and Melvin White).

In 1963, she met and later married the love of her life, Jim Fullen. Spending the entirety of their marriage around central Indiana, Lil helped found two floor-covering companies alongside her husband, including James Fullen Enterprises, serving as office manager. Upon Jim’s passing in 1996, Lil became CEO and assumed leadership of the company, continuing to run the successful business until her retirement at the age of 55.

Lil was a devoted wife, mother, mammaw, sister, and friend, who was known for her skill at the sewing machine. She loved cooking and preparing her delicious baked treats, especially her chocolate chip cookies and German chocolate cake. Gathering with family and friends always brought her great joy, as family meant everything to her.

In her 50’s she discovered a new passion and increased confidence through square dancing. Not only was she elected president several times at her local club, but it was at a square dance that she met Carl Walton, whom she married in 2005; he also preceded her in death.

Lil is survived by her daughters, Penelope Oertel (Jeff) of Fishers and Angela Harvey (Patrick) of Fairland. Also surviving are her four grandchildren, Steffanie Cain (Adam) of Knightstown, Andrew Oertel of Fishers, William Harvey and Eric Harvey, both of Fairland; her four-great-grandchildren, Kensington Parsons (Andy), Eli Cain (fiancée, Kayla), Lillie Cain, and Azalea Oertel; and also her siblings, Jean Morrow of Greenwood and Oscar “Red” White (Joyce) of Centerville, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, Aug. 25, from 4-8 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 East Washington Street, Indianapolis 46229 with funeral services there Tuesday, Aug. 26, at noon. Larry Wheat, Associate Pastor of Knightstown Christian Church will officiate.
