Alfred Brown, 82, of Olmstead, passed away Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025 at his home with his family by his side. He was born in Goodlettsville, Tenn. on Dec. 30, 1942 to the late Ben Hooper Brown and Mildredge Avo Apple Brown. He was a farmer and a member of the Bethany Church of Christ.

He is survived by wife of 61 years. Melba Brown; his daughters, Melissa “Missi” Coleman and husband Billy Joe of Lewisburg and Bethany Carter and husband Marcus of Columbia, S.C.’; his brothers, Albert Brown and wife Linda and Larry Brown and wife Brenda, all of Russellville; his lifelong friend and brother-in-law, Paul Kizer and wife Sylvia of  Hendersonville, Tenn.; his grandchildren, Marcus Carter II and wife Mariah of O’Fallon, Mo,. Tyler Coleman and wife Katie of Lewisburg, Cedric Carter and wife Carmon of Temecula, Calif., Carrie Rust and husband Justin of Russellville, and Tabitha Carter of Columbia, S.C.; hid great-grandchildren, Makalya, Jasper, Malia, Mackenzie, Jae Bug, Marcus Wayne III, Cooper, Camila and Cayden.

Funeral services for Alfred Brown will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25, at Summers and Son Funeral Home with Danny Williams and Harris Dockins officiating with burial at the Brown Family Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be held Friday, Oct. 24, from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service hour

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Kentucky, 5872 Scottsville Road, Bowling Green, KY 42104.
