Meredith Herndon Elliot Jr., 82, of Russellville, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025, at Creekwood Nursing & Rehab. He was born Jan. 31, 1943, to the late Meredith Herdon Elliot Sr. and Holverston Elliot
He is also preceded in death by his devoted companion, Georgia Ann Posey; his brothers, Lavone Elliot and Lester Ray Elliot; and his stepchildren, Alan Ray Posey, Anthony Posey, and Alfreda Posey.
He is survived by his daughters, Sue Posey Kendrick of Russellville, Lisa Gormon (Perry) of Las Vegas and Zariah Isreal (Yisreal) of Frankfort; his sons, Quinton Posey and Ricky Bellamy, both of Russellville; his sisters, Savannah Darden (Charlie) of Nashville and Annie Elizabeth Miles (Roosevelt) of Russellville; his brothers, Regnald Elliot (Dorothy Jean) of Adairville, and Norton Elliot, Lamberson Elliot of Russellville and Christopher Elliot, all of Russellville; and a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Meredith was a member of Townsend Grove Baptist Church, farmed most of working days, was a hardworking man, and loved playing baseball in his younger days, watching Western movies and listening to music.
Visitation will begin at noon on Saturday at Townsend Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Tony Woodson officiating services at 1 p.m. with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery.
