Thomas B. ‘Tommy’ Brown, 81, of Campground Road, Olmstead, Kentucky passed away Friday, May 8, 2015 at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green.  

He was a Logan County native, born March 2, 1934 to the late Thomas Benjamin Brown Sr. and Virginia Dawson Brown.  He was a farmer and co-owner of Browns Tobacco Warehouse.  He was a member of Dripping Spring Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.  He was president of Browns Tobacco Warehouse and served on the boards of South Logan Water Association, Burley Tobacco Co-op, South Logan Conservation District, Logan County Election Commission and Democratic Executive Committee. 

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gayle Dawson Brown; his son ~ Ben Brown and wife Sandra ~ Russellville; his daughter ~ Amanda Gaye Brown Hollingsworth and husband Jack ~ Springfield; his brothers ~ Dr. George Brown ~ Elkton, and Bradley Brown ~ Russellville; his sister ~ Jane Sweatt ~ Olmstead; four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Thomas B. ‘Tommy’ Brown will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 18, at Dripping Spring Baptist Church with Bro. Jeff Noffsinger and Bro. Harris Dockins officiating with burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation at Dripping Spring Baptist Church will be held Sunday, May 17, from 3-8 p.m. and Monday from 11 a.m. until the service hour of 1 p.m. 

Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to Dripping Spring Baptist Church or the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky. Envelopes will be available.
