Stella L. Young, 73, passed away Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015 at the Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. She was born in Bowling Green on Jan. 3, 1942 to the late Roy W. VanMeter and Ruth Upton VanMeter. She retired as a nurse’s aide for Life Line Home Health and a member of Post Oak Baptist Church where she was a choir member and member of the Sunday Night Life Worship Team. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry D. Young, and daughter, Darla Haley.
She is survived by her daughters ~ Vickie Phillips and husband David ~ Russellville and Sue Greenfield and husband Kenneth ~ Elkton; her brothers ~ Roy David VanMeter ~ Auburn and Tony VanMeter ~ Russellville; her sister ~ Frances Glasscock ~ Bowling Green; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Stella L. Young will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11, at Post Oak Baptist Church with Bro. Bryan Jackson and Dr. John Franklin officiating with burial in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
Visitation at Post Oak Baptist Church will be Monday, Aug. 10, from 5-8 p.m. and Tuesday at the church from 11 a.m. until the service hour of 1 p.m.
