Rebecca Elizabeth McCarley, 79, of Kenny Stratton Road, Olmstead, passed away Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015 at her home. She was a Logan County native, born Aug. 23, 1936 to the late Martin “Shorty” McCarley and Mamie Louise Sydnor McCarley. She was a homemaker and member of Mt Gilead Baptist Church where she was an usher and helped on the kitchen committee.
She is survived by her son ~ Paul Christopher McCarley and wife Norma ~ Olmstead; her daughters ~ Debbie Lynn Petties McCarley ~ Adairville and Linda McCarley and domestic partner Trazet Williams ~ Atlanta; her brothers ~ William “Billy” McCarley ~ Russellville, and Russell McCarley and wife Diane, Jerry McCarley and James McCarley ~ all of Olmstead; her sisters ~ Rosie Dickerson and husband Bob and Lillie Mae Snorton, both of Adairville, Annie Henry and Mary Ann Dillihay, both of Olmstead, Betty McCarley ~ Russellville, and Vivian Faye McCarley ~ Atlanta; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services for Rebecca Elizabeth McCarley will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 14, at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Bro. Delmus Johnson and Rev. Gary Johnson officiating with burial to follow in the Russellville Memorial Garden. Visitation at the funeral home on Monday will begin at 10 a.m. and last until the service hour of 1 p.m.
