Bro. Mickey Lane McPherson, 65, of Dunmor, died on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015, at the St. Thomas Hospital - West in Nashville. He was born Monday, June 26, 1950 in Greenville, the son of the late Cecil McPherson and the late Mildred Lois "Midge" Mallory McPherson. He was the husband of Rose (Francis) McPherson of Dunmor, who survives.
He was a longtime CPA at Mickey L. McPherson CPA in Powderly and a longtime Baptist minister. He surrendered to preach at the Penrod Missionary Baptist Church. He served as minister of the Oak Forrest Missionary Baptist Church, New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and Cave Springs Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of Cave Springs Missionary Baptist Church.
Also surviving are his son, Kyle McPherson - (Mandy) of Dunmor; his daughter, Sonja Lear -(Jamie) of Penrod; his brother, Joey McPherson - (Chloe) of Belton; his sister, Cecilia Kirtley -(Ricky) of Browder; his grandchildren, Emma Lear of Penrod, Chessie McPherson and Porter McPherson, both of Dunmor, and one grandchild on the way.
A funeral service will be held at noon on Friday at Price Funeral Home, Inc. located at 252 E. Green St. Lewisburg, with Bro. Steve Rutherford and Bro. Terry Chaney officiating. Interment will be in McPherson Family Cemetery, on Shelby Lane, Dunmor.
The family will receive friends after 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22, at Price Funeral Home, Inc.
