Marietta “Micki” Cook, 74, of Kerry Court, Franklin, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015 at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green. She was born in Hayesville, Iowa on Feb. 8, 1941 to the late Wayne Keller and Opal Adams Keller.
Following the death of her mother, Micki and her sister Janice were raised by their father and step-mother and by their Aunt Thelma and Uncle Everett Lewis. She was a Christian, a loving mother, and a homemaker and a member of the Allen County Homemakers Association. She loved animals, flowers and collecting antiques and also loved talking to old friends and new.
Along with her parents, Micki was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Cook, her son, Doug Cook, and her sister, Janice Sojka.
She is survived by her daughters ~ Michelle Boggess ~ Florida, Denise Skow and husband Ron ~ Wisconsin, and Cynthia Cook ~ Franklin; her step-bother ~ Pete Swearingen ~ What Cheer, Iowa; and her half-siblings ~ David Keller ~ Derby, Iowa, Vicki Thomas ~ What Cheer, Patti Davis ~ Des Moines, Iowa and Dennis Keller ~ Hayesville, Iowa; her grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and close friends.
The family will welcome family and friends for visitation for Marietta “Micki” Cook on Monday, Dec. 21, from 10 a.m. to noon at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home.
