Dorothy Britt Edwards, 89, of Creekwood Place Nursing and Rehab, Russellville, passed away there Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015. She was a New Jersey native, born to the late Ode Britt and Nellie Sue Anderson Britt. She was of the Baptist faith, was a co-owner of Dutchess Beauty Salon in Russellville, an instructor for Lois Glenn Beauty School, as well as for P.J.s Cosmetology, and was owner and operator of Edwards Dress Shop in Russellville.
She is survived by her son ~ William H. Edwards ~ Russellville; her daughters ~ Sherry K. Wilkins ~ Russellville, and Lindy Barris ~ Greenbrier, Tenn.; her brothers ~ Jimmy and Danny Britt ~ both of Auburn, Barry Britt ~ St. Augustine, Fla. and Richard Britt ~ West Palm Beach, Fla.; her sisters ~ Carol Ford ~ Cave City, Virgie Burke ~ Shepherdsville, Donna Sue Loftis ~ Auburn, Joanie Ballot ~ Louisville andYvonne Latham ~ Gallatin, Tenn.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Dorothy Britt Edwards will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Bro. Travis Bryan officiating with burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. There will be visitation at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home Tuesday, beginning at 11 a.m. and lasting until the funeral hour at 2.
