James O. ‘Jim’ Kemp, 82 of Union Church Road, Russellville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016 at Auburn Health Care in Auburn. He was a Logan County native, born Feb. 21, 1933 to the late Lloyd Crewdson Kemp Sr. and Fannie Mae Lockhart Kemp. He was an Army Veteran, a retired supervisor at Emerson Electric and a member of the Bethany Church of Christ.
He is survived by his son ~ Lynn Kemp ~ Elkton; his daughter ~ Kay Piper and husband Bradley ~ Allensville; his brothers ~ Billy Joe ‘Huff’ Kemp and Thomas L. Kemp ~ both of Russellville, and Wayne ‘Rabbit’ Kemp ~ Lewisburg; his sisters ~ Marion Mallory ~ Russellville, Jerlyn Starks ~ Atlanta, and Sue Kunkle ~ Wichita, Kan.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for James O. ‘Jim’ Kemp will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 8, at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Bro. Frank Dockins officiating and burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. There will be no public visitation prior to the funeral service.
