Betty Shifflett, 89, of Stacker Street, Lewisburg, passed away Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016 at Signature Healthcare of Bowling Green. She was born in Elkton, on Dec. 23, 1926 to the late Matthew Lee Clifton and Betty Gardner Clifton. She was a co-owner of Shifflett Iron and Metal and was of the Christian faith.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin ‘Peanut’ Shifflett, sons Thomas Wayne and Curtis Martin, and grandsons, Kevin Hightower and Curtis Martin Jr.
She is survived by her son ~ Dickie Shifflett and wife Connie ~ Russellville; her daughters ~ Lela Shoemake ~ Lewisburg, and Jean Parrish and husband Eddie, Mary Williamson and husband Patrick, and Joyce Belcher and husband Wayne ~ all of Russellville; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Betty Shifflett will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12, at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Rev. John Posey officiating with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday will begin at 10 a.m. and last until the service hour of 2 p.m.
