Mary Helen Chitwood Baker, 94, of Boyles Drive, Russellville, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016 at Creekwood Nursing and Rehab in Russellville. She was born in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. on Nov. 20, 1921 to the late Irvin Decatur Chitwood and Essie Mae White Chitwood. She was a Homemaker and member of Crittenden Drive Church of Christ and past member of Red Boiling Springs Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gorman “Buck” Baker.
She is survived by her sons, Charles Baker and wife Patricia and John Robert “Bob” Baker and wife Judy ~ both of Russellville; her daughters ~ Sara Brooks and husband Lloyd ~ Russellville, Marilyn Settle ~ Lewisburg and Alice B. Yates and husband Ricky ~ Auburn; her sisters ~ Dorothy Chitwood ~ Red Boiling Springs, Dixie Stone ~ Mt. Juliet, Tenn. and Sarah Keith ~ Oak Ridge, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren, 17 great- grandchildren, 3 step-great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mary Helen Chitwood Baker will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30, with Danny Williams and Charles Roney officiating with burial to follow in Belmont Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be held Friday, Jan. 29, from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until the service hour at 11 a.m.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
