Nita Flowers Williams, 86, of Brookhaven Drive Russellville, passed away Friday, Feb. 26, 2016 at Creekwood Nursing and Rehab in Russellville, Kentucky. She was born in Ringold, Ga. on March 13, 1929 to the late Varna Flowers and Catherine Elizabeth Acuff Flowers.
She was a retired LPN Nurse for Logan County Hospital and member of the Fellowship Church of Christ. She was also a past member of the Democratic Women’s Club and volunteered for Logan Memorial Hospital with the Hospital Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Wilbur Williams.
She is survived by her son ~ Daniel Glenn ‘Danny’ Williams and wife Barbara ~ Russellville; her daughter ~ Joyce Ann Williams Chesnut ~ Russellville; her grandsons ~ Jonathan Williams and wife Karen ~ Shepherdsville. Andy Williams ~ Gulf Shores, Ala. and Phillip Chesnut and wife Amy ~ Paducah; her great-grandchildren ~ Gavin Williams, Camden Williams, Kendall Williams, Carson Chesnut and Miles Chesnut.
The funeral services for Nita Flowers Williams will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 28, at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Roney officiating with burial to follow in the Russellville Memorial Gardens. Visitation at the funeral home will be held Saturday, Feb. 27, from 5-8 p.m. and Sunday, from 12:30 p.m. until the service hour of 2 p.m.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the Fellowship Church of Christ or any other charitable organization of the donor’s choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
