Joe Wayne Porter, 86, of Lewisburg, died on Saturday, March 19, 2016, at Creekwood Place in Russellville.
He was born Friday, Sept. 13, 1929 in Quality, the son of the late Guy Porter and Jessie Harper Porter. He was the husband of Rubye Shoemaker Porter, who survives.
He was mail carrier for U.S. Postal Service and a member of Quality Baptist Church.
He served as a corporeal in the Army from 1951 until 1953. He was a Veteran of Korea.
Surviving are his son, Phillip Porter - (Denise) of Lewisburg; his daughter, Melinda Porter of Russellville; his sister, Treva Clark - (Alderson) of Bowling Green; and his grandson, Tyler Porter - (Amber Burton).
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Monday at Price Funeral Home, Inc. located at 252 E. Green St. Lewisburg, with Rev. Pete Phelps officiating. Interment will be in Quality Baptist Church Cemetery, Lewisburg.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, at Price Funeral Home.
