Dorothy Jean Brady, 78, of Mortimer Station Road, Adairville, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville. She was a Todd County native, born March 28, 1938 to the late Alton McGuire and Opal Burton McGuire. She worked at the Adairville Hosiery Mill for many years and was a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ Apostolic. She enjoyed gardening, taking care of her chickens and attending yard sales.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen Benton Brady Sr., her son, Andrew Jackson Brady, and her daughter, Bonnie Joetta Blackford.

She is survived by her sons ~ John W. Brady ~ Adairville, and Owen Benton Brady, Jr. ~ Terre Haute, Ind.; her daughter ~ Sandra Moore ~ Shelbyville, Tenn.; her brothers ~ William ‘Bill’ McGuire ~ Adairville, and Bobby McGuire ~ Ashland City, Tenn.; her sister ~  Kathy Hutchison ~ Elkton; and eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren

Funeral Services for Dorothy Jean Brady will be conducted at 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Bro. Edward Burchett officiating and burial to follow in Berea Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be held Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the service hour at 4 p.m.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

 

Pallbearers: Austin Clinton, Cody Smith, Malcomb Parks, Scott Tsosie, John Epley and Andrew Brady.
