Mildred Atkins Drake, 99, of Paul Young Road, Olmstead, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at her home. She was born in Allensville, on May 11, 1917 to the late Carroll Atkins and Maude King Atkins. She was a homemaker and member of the Allensville United Methodist Church for 74 years where she was a Sunday School Teacher and President of the Missionary Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Jimmie Drake Sr.
She is survived by her son ~ Jim Drake Jr. and wife Felicia ~ Olmstead; her daughters ~ Ann Drake Almond and husband Zeke ~ Bradenton, Fla. And Jane Drake Bibb ~ Olmstead; her sister ~ Faye Fyke ~ Springfield; her grandchildren ~ Lori Ann Green, Emily Drake Feaster, Cynthia Minnix Truxillo, Shelley Drake and Ashley Bibb: six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mildred Atkins Drake will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, at Allensville United Methodist Church with Bro. Calvin Chittenden and Bro. Jeff Noffsinger officiating with burial to follow in Belmont Cemetery in Allensville,.
Visitation at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home will be held Friday, July 8, from 5-8 p.m. and at Allensville United Methodist Church on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the service hour of 1 p.m.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.
