Virgil L. Parrish, 87, of Russellville, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Creekwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was a Logan County native, born May 12, 1929 to the late Cecil A. Parrish and Beulah Mae Clark Parrish of the Chandlers community.
Virgil was a farmer and a retiree of ITW and Kentucky Micro Finishing in Bowling Green. He was a long time member of Green Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church, serving as an elder, Sunday School superintendent and youth leader.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jo Ann Justice Parrish; his daughter ~ Rev. Rebecca Wegner and husband Joel ~ Brunswick, Maine; his son ~ Rev. Steven Parrish and wife Patricia ~ Memphis; his granddaughters ~ Leah and Lindsey; his great-grandchildren ~ Tanner, Avery and Harrison Mueller; his sister ~ Martha Arnold; and his sister-in-law ~ Dian Parrish.
Funeral Services for Virgil L. Parrish will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, at Green Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Keith Hildabrand and Bro. Joe Vaught officiating with burial to follow in Green Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Visitation at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home will be held Friday, July 22, from 5-8 p.m. Visitation Saturday at Green Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church will be held from noon until the service hour of 2 p.m.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to Green Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.
