James R. ‘Jimmy’ Shanklin, 79, of Clarksville, formerly of Russellville, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016 at his home. He was an Elkton native, born Nov. 18, 1936 to the late James Edward Shanklin and Ada Mae Wheeler Shanklin. He was a General Forman in the lamination department at Emerson Electric and member of Post Oak Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Linda Miller Shanklin; his son ~ Chris Shanklin ~ Clarksville; his brother ~ Wallace Shanklin and wife Betty ~ Russellville.
Funeral services for James R. ‘Jimmy’ Shanklin will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Warren David Wright officiating with burial to follow in Stevenson’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be held Tuesday, Aug. 2, from 5-7 p.m. and after 8 a.m. on Wednesday until the service hour of 1 p.m.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
