Richard Dale ‘Rick’ Allen, a loving husband, father and grandfather, age 63, of Clarksville Road, Russellville, passed away Tuesday, Sept.20, 2016 at the St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville. He was a Logan County native, born Jan. 27, 1953 to the late Harold Allen and Katherine Rust Allen. He was an engineer/engineering manager for Rockwell International and Emerson Electric Company, was a member of Masonic Lodge #17 F&AM and was a member of the Post Oak Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years ~ Donna Chapman Allen; his daughters ~ Christi Messer and husband Allen ~ Mason, Ohio and Catherine Givens ~ Bowling Green; his brothers ~ Eddie Allen and wife Judy ~ Russellville, and David Allen and wife Karen ~ Blue Springs, Miss.; His sisters ~ Sherry Perry and husband Steve ~ Adairville, and Denise Williams and husband Kevin ~ Adairville; and his grandchildren ~ Courtney Messer, Matthew Messer and Jacob Givens.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel P. Allen.
Funeral services for Richard Dale ‘Rick’ Allen will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Duke and Bro. Keith Hildabrand officiating with burial to follow in Belmont Cemetery in Allensville. Visitation at the funeral home will be held Friday, Sept. 23, from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until the service hour of 11 a.m.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
