Helen M. Porter, 87, of Lewisburg, died on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, at her residence.
She was born Tuesday, Oct. 23, 1928 in Lewisburg, the daughter of the late Eurie Scarbrough and the late Rachel Harper Scarbrough. She was the wife of Glenn Porter, of Lewisburg, who survives.
She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
Also surviving are her son, Rex Porter - (Diane) of Lewisburg; her brothers, Edwin Scarbrough - (Dorris) of Dickson, Tenn. and Wilford Scarbrough -(Jerri) of Auburn; her grandchild, Cole Porter; her step-grandchildren, Christa Yates - (Jon) of Auburn, and W.G. Brooks - (Chrissy Mead) of Lewisburg; and her step-great-grandchildren, Jacob Brooks and Kolton Brooks of Lewisburg, and Natalie Yates of Auburn.
She was also predeceased by her brother, Lawrence Scarbrough.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Price Funeral Home, Inc. located at 252 E. Green St. Lewisburg, with the Rev. Tim Nugent officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Lewisburg.
The family will receive friends from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, at Price Funeral Home.
