Wayne (Papaw) Covington, 65, of Beech Creek, died on Monday, Oct. 24, 2016, at the Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.
He was born Saturday, June 23, 1951 in Kentucky, the son of the late Wallace Covington and the late Evanell Sumner Covington. He was the husband of Marilyn Gardner Covington of Beech Creek, who survives.
He was formerly employed by Hinton Lumber Company and National Lumber Company. He was a member of Lewisburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He liked to collect Case knives, riding his motorcycle, going to the mountains and spending time with his family.
Also surviving are his son, Jordan Covington of Auburn; his brothers, Wendell Covington of Lewisburg, Paul Covington of Dunmor, Milton Covington of Lewisburg, and Jeff Covington of Elkton; his sister, Ann Perry of Elkton; hi grandchild, Bailey Covington of Auburn; his step-daughter, Jennifer Allen of Drakesboro; his step-son, Brandon Beliles of Beech Creek; and his step-grandchildren, Taegan Beliles of Beech Creek, and Renesme, Sorren, and Sawyer Allen of Drakesboro.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Billy Covington and Dukie Covington, and his sister, Sandra Skipworth.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at Price Funeral Home, Inc. located at 252 E. Green St. Lewisburg, with Bro. Bob Thurman officiating. Interment will be in Gardner Cemetery, Dunmor, KY.
The family will receive friends after 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27, at Price Funeral Home.
