1922 at Duncan Ridge, the son of Rhea Harris and Minnie Johnson Harris. He was married to the late Mary Agnes Harris for 66 years.
Mr. Harris was a member of Beechland Baptist Church and a World War II veteran. He was employed as a farmer, oil field worker and machinist. He will be fondly remembered for his strong work ethic, sense of humor and devotion to his family.
Surviving are his son, Ron Harris – (Barbara) of Russellville; her daughters, Carolyn Arnold – (Durwood) of Central City and Sue Taylor –(Gary) of Bowling Green; his brother, Rev. Thurmon Harris of Madisonville; his sister, Mildred Gibbs of Tahlequah, Okla.; 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 10 step-great-grandchildren and 7 step great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Harris was predeceased by his sisters, Louvernia Penuel and Anita Jo Whittaker.
The funeral service will be held at Price Funeral Home, Inc. 252 E. Green St. Lewisburg, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday Nov. 9, with the Rev. Thurmon Harris and Rev. Tommy Wilhite officiating. Interment will be in the Elk Lick Cemetery, Lewisburg.
The family will receive friends after 4 p.m. on Tuesday at Price Funeral Home, Inc. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of a donation to Baptist Health Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
