Mary Lucy Givens McCormick, 75, of Russellville, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky. She was a Logan County native, born Oct. 17, 1941 to the late John Martin Givens Sr. and Mary Rebecca Dawson Givens. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church, where she served as Deacon and was very active with the coat closet ministry.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Mike McCormick; her daughter ~ Cindy McCormick Suiter and husband Pat ~ Russellville; her son ~ Shawn McCormick ~ Lancaster, Penn.; her brothers ~ Johnny Givens and wife Judy ~ Russellville, Mike Kemp and wife, Vickie ~ Russellville, and Tommy Kemp and wife Becky ~ Elizabethtown; her sister ~ Rebecca Kemp Everist and husband Jerry – Buda, Texas; his g randchildren ~ Katelyn Suiter, Nelson Suiter, Luci Suiter and P.J. Suiter.
Funeral services for Mary Lucy Givens McCormick will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 27, at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Rev. Dann Masden officiating with burial to follow in Berea Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be held Saturday, Nov. 26, from 5-8 p.m. and on Sunday from 8 a.m. until the service hour at 1:30 p.m.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the First Christian Church or to the Logan County Library. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
