Herman Xaver Duschl, known as Santa Claus by many, age 81, of Coopertown Road, Russellville, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016 at the Hospice House in Bowling Green. He was a German native, born Jan. 8, 1935 to the late Xaver Duschl and Bertha Höhn Duschl. He was a painter, a U.S. Air Force Veteran, member of the Knights of Columbus and member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife ~ Barbara Duschl; his daughters ~ Kathy Kondracki and husband, Fred ~ and Joan Sherrod ~ all of Russellville; his sister ~ Bertha Louise Nagl ~ Moose, Germany; eight grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren
A Funeral Mass for Herman Xaver Duschl will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 28, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Jojy Joseph officiating with burial to follow in the Xavar Cemetery. Visitation at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home will be held Sunday, Nov. 27, from 5-8 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 6:30 p.m. There will be no visitation on Monday prior for the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to Hospice of Southern Kentucky. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.
