Ben Taylor Harris, 73, of Dunmor, died on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016, at his residence. Ben was a loving husband, father, Papa, businessman, philanthropist and avid fisherman.

He was born Wednesday, November 3, 1943 in Logan Co., Kentucky, the son of the late Cliva Harris and the late Viola Coursey Harris. He was the husband of Ruth Vaughn Harris of Dunmor, who survives.

He was a graduate of Lewisburg High School in 1961.
He served in the Army from 1964 until 1966 and was a Veteran of Vietnam.
He worked at Genesco in Nashville, for over 37 years and retired as the Chairman and CEO
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Donelson.
He served as a volunteer on several community boards in Muhlenberg County.
He completed the Advanced Management Program from the Harvard Business School in 1995.

Also surviving are his daughters, Allison Miller - (Marc) of Signal Mountain, Tenn. and Emily Parker - (Jeremy) of Knoxville; his brother, C.W. Harris of Lewisburg; and his grandchildren, Preston Miller, Jonathan Miller, Joshua Miller and Lydia Miller, all of Signal Mountain, Tenn. and Grant Parker, Luke Parker and Grady Sue Parker all of Knoxville.

The family will receive family and friends at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17, at First Baptist Church of Donelson (Family Life Center), 2526 Lebanon Pike, Nashville 37214 and a Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m.
