Mary Kathleen Tynes, 85, of Caney Fork Rd., Lewisburg, died on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016, at Creekwood Place in Russellville. She was born Thursday, March 19, 1931, the daughter of the late Ralph Tyree and the late Edith Warren Tyree. She was the wife of the late Russell Tynes Sr..
She was a homemaker and former employee of Caldwell Lace Leather in Auburn.
She was a member of Bald Knob Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School for several years and was the Session Clerk.
Surviving are her sons, Randy Tynes - (Gina) of Morgantown, and Russell "Rusty" Tynes, Jr. -(Amye) of Lewisburg; her daughter, Kathi Steenbergen-(Doug) of Lewisburg; her brother, Ralph Wayne Tyree of Burlington, N.C.; her sister, Nadine Appling of Franklin; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was also predeceased by her daughter, Ginger Carole Tynes.
A funeral service will be at noon on Tuesday at Bald Knob Cumberland Presbyterian Church located at 102 Bald Knob Church Rd., Russellville with Rev. Byron Dumas officiating. Interment will be in Smith Cemetery, Logan County.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 12, at Price Funeral Home, 252 E. Green St., Lewisburg, and again from 10 a.m. until the funeral time on Tuesday, Dec. 13, at Bald Knob Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 102 Bald Knob Church Rd., Russellville.
