William ‘Pop’ Shoemake, age 75 of Sunset Drive, Auburn, passed away Monday, Jan. 2, 2017 at his home. He was a Logan County native, born April 27, 1941 to the late Harvey Unana Shoemake and Lucille Carter Shoemake.  He was a tanner for Auburn Lace and Leather, a member of Elkton Baptist Church and an avid fisherman.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Shoemake; his sons ~ Danny Shoemake and wife Nancy ~ Auburn, James Shoemake and wife Julie ~ Chandlers, andBobby Shoemake and wife Sunny ~ Russellville; his daughter ~ Darlene Dotson and husband Jeremy ~ Auburn; 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for William ‘Pop’ Shoemake will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5, at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Bro. Kenny Chyle officiating with burial to follow in Smith Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be held Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until the service hour of 2. 

Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to The American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
