James L. ‘Jimmy’ Conger, Sr., 91, of Crittenden Circle, Russellville, passed away Monday, Jan. 2, 2017 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. He was born Jan. 5, 1925 in Cumberland City, Tenn. to the late George Conger and Louise Conger. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, and a ticket and station agent for L&N Railroad. He was a member of the United Methodist Temple and past member of the Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo Stockdale Conger.

He is survived by his son ~ Lewis Conger and wife Charlene ~ Russellville; his sister ~ Nell McIntosh ~ Dover, Tenn.; his grandsons ~ Jim Conger and wife Judy ~ Springfield, Tenn. and Brian Conger ~ Russellville.

Funeral services for James L. ‘Jimmy’ Conger will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 6, at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Sayre officiating with burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.  

Visitation at the funeral home will be held Thursday from 5-7 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. until the service hour of 11.

 

Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the United Methodist Temple. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
