Donald Hugh McElwain, 84, of Penrod, died Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.
He was born Tuesday, Sept. 20, 1932 in Penrod, the son of the late Andrew McElwain and the late Edith Wood McElwain. He was the husband of Lois Hill McElwain, who survives.
He served in the Air Force from 1952 until 1956 and was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of Drakesboro United Methodist Church.
Also surviving are his sons, Jeff ‘Randy’ McElwain-(Linda) of Lawrenceburg, Kevin McElwain-(Beverly) of Lawrenceburg and Daniel McElwain-(Carla) of Penrod; his step-daughters, Pam Harrison of Radcliff and Karen Rabuck-(Robbie) of Bellevue, Neb.; his brothers, Russell McElwain-(Frances) of Indianapolis and Benny McElwain-(Marilyn) of Penrod; his grandchildren, Ashley Bryant-(Ray) of Lawrenceburg, Megan McElwain of Lawrenceburg, Ben McElwain of Kaiserslautern, Germany, Matt McElwain of Lexington, Joshua McElwain of Penrod, Alex Kirtley of Radcliff, Jacob Dickerson of Greenville and Kristen Dickerson of Muhlenberg County; seven great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his sister, Doris Forgy.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday at Price Funeral Home, Inc. located at 252 E. Green St. Lewisburg with Bro. Derrick Benton officiating. Interment will be in Wileys Chapel Cemetery, Lewisburg.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m.on Sunday, Jan. 29, at Price Funeral Home.
