Maxine Cook Gardner, 91, of Lewisburg, died on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.
She was born Friday, March 20, 1925, the daughter of the late James Cook and the late Marie Givens Gardner. She was the wife of the late Pendleton "Pen Joe" Gardner.
She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher for 40 years.
Surviving are her son, Dwight C. Gardner of Morgantown; her daughter, Maxie Joe Miller of Indian Springs, Ala.; her sister, Betty Sandfur of Louisville; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son, Pendelton Douglas Gardner.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Price Funeral Home, Inc. located at 252 E. Green St. Lewisburg, with Rev. Raleigh Blancett officiating. Interment will be in Gardner Cemetery, Lewisburg.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, at Price Funeral Home.
