William David ‘Bill’ Taylor, 68, of Bowling Green, formerly of Lewisburg, died on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green surrounded by his family.

He was born July 6, 1948 in Russellville, Kentucky, the son of the late William Henry Taylor and the late Viola Brown Taylor. He was the husband of Rita Childress Taylor, of Bowling Green who survives.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Vietnam, and a 25-year retired employee of TVA at Paradise. He was a former employee of Rockwell in Russellville, a retired board member of the Lewisburg Public Housing Authority and member of Union Light Missionary Baptist Church near Mammoth Cave.

Besides his wife, he is survived by son Keith Taylor - (Karen) of Lewisburg; his daughter, Veronica Burchett - (Ron) of Bowling Green, KY; and step-sons, Derek Boothe of Bowling Green, and Ryan Boothe of South Carolina; his grandchildren, Joshua Graves, Blake Taylor, Abby Boothe, Kaitlyn Burchett, Allie Boothe, Jordan Graves and Tyler Burchett; his brother, Roy Taylor - (Betty Sue) of Russellville; his sisters, Virginia "Jenny" Gilliam - (J.D.)of Russellville, Sue Johnson - (Marvin) of Clarksville, Barbara Houchens - (Loyd) of Russellville; his brother-in-law, Kenneth McReynolds of Lewisburg, and sister-in-law, Betty Taylor of Springhill, as well and many nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his sister, Wilma McReynolds, and his brother, Carl ‘Bub’ Taylor.

The family received friends at Price Funeral in Lewisburg Saturday afternoon and again on Sunday, April 9, at Union Light Missionary Baptist Church, Mammoth Cave. The funeral service was at the church beginning at 2 p.m. with Bro. Ronald Renfro officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery with military honors at the graveside.
