Joyce Ann Chesnut, 68, of Russellville, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the Hospice House in Bowling Green.  She was a Logan County native, born Oct. 3, 1948 to the late Floyd Wilbur Williams and Juanita “Nita” Flowers Williams. She was the widow of the late James Edgar Chesnut.

She was a member of First Christian Church, West 7th Street, Russellville where she served as an elder, a past board chairman, a Sunday school teacher and also sang in the choir. She was a past member and officer of the Logan County Democratic Executive Committee and Logan County Election Commission. She sang with the deGraffenried Chorale for 27 years where she served as secretary/treasurer. She worked at Shaker Village and Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home.

She is survived by her son ~ Phillip Tandy Chesnut and wife Amy ~ Paducah; her brother ~ Danny Williams and wife Barbara ~ Russellville; her grandchildren ~ Carson Franklin Chesnut, Miles David Chesnut and Nora Elizabeth; two nephews, two great-nieces and a great-nephew. 

Funeral services for Joyce Ann Chesnut will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2, in the First Christian Church, West 7th Street, Russellville with Rev. Dann Masden officiating, with burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home will be held Monday, May 1, from 5-8 p.m. and Tuesday at First Christian Church from 10 a.m. until the service hour at 11 a.m.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the First Christian Church Memorial Fund or to the deGraffenried Chorale. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and at the church.
