Wallace E. Shanklin, age 84, of Russellville, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017, at his home.
He was a Todd County native, born Dec. 20, 1932, to the late James Edward Shanklin and Ada Mae Wheeler Shanklin.
He retired from Kentucky Stone as quality control manager and was a United States Army veteran, where he served in the Korean War. He was a member of the Russellville Lions Club, where he served as secretary/treasurer for many years. He was a member of Southern Heights Baptist Church, where he served as deacon, trustee, Sunday school superintendent and choir member.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Shanklin; one daughter, Loretta Harper and husband Jimmy of Russellville; his grandchildren, Holly Shelton and Jennifer Partin, both of Russellville, and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Wallace E. Shanklin will be conducted Tuesday, May 9 at 1 p.m. at Southern Heights Baptist Church with Bro. Phillip Alexander and Bro. Jared Patrick officiating. Visitation at the church will be held Monday, May 8 from 5-8 p.m. and Tuesday, May 9 from 11 a.m. until the service hour of 1 p.m.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to Southern Heights Baptist Church or Russellville Lions Club. Envelopes will be available at the church.
