Russell Kemp, 71, of Tom Graham Road, Russellville, passed away Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017 at Logan Memorial Hospital. He was a Logan County native, born May 26, 1946 to the late Russell Seldon Kemp, Sr. and Martha Thurmond Kemp. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and truck driver for UPS but farming was his first love. He was a member of the Bethany Church of Christ and an avid golfer.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years ~ Janet Kemp; his daughters ~ Sara Kemp ~ Nashville and Amanda Weedman and husband Jonathan ~ Conifer, Col.; and his sisters ~ Ann Smoak and husband Guy ~ Fairview, Tenn. and Betty Pupko and husband, Walter ~ Austin, Texas.
Funeral services for Russell Kemp will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 20, 2017 at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Danny Williams and Harris Dockins officiating with burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be held today from 8 a.m. until the service hour of 2 p.m.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
