Bobbie Carroll Gant, 76, of Gallatin, Tenn. died on Monday, Aug. 21, 2017, at the Alive Hospice in Nashville.

He was born Sunday, Nov. 24, 1940 in Sharon Grove, the son of the late James Dueard Gant and the late Sylvia Driskill Gant. He was the husband of Linda Williams Gant, who survives.

He was retired from the U S Air Force where he served as a Chief Master Sgt from 1961 until 1987. He served during the Vietnam conflict.

He was a member of Gideons International and was an Honarary Deacon at Mt. Vernon General Baptist Church and a former Sunday School teacher and superintendent.

Also surviving are his sons, Ed Gant (Julie) of Hendersonville and Jim Gant (Sherry) of Matthews, N.C.; his brother, Mitchell Gant (Karen) of Sarasota, Fla.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday at Mt. Vernon General Baptist Church, located on Coal Bank Road, Sharon Grove 42280 with Bro. Glen Harper and Bro. Barry Noe officiating. Interment will be in Gant Cemetery, Sharon Grove.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 24, at Price Funeral Home, Inc., 252 E. Green Street, Lewisburg and after 9 a.m.  on Friday at Mt. Vernon General Baptist Church.
