Sonny Hibbs, 80, of Highland Lick Road, Russellville, passed away Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017 at his home. He was born in Hanson on March 13, 1937 to the late Otto Hibbs and Linnie Morrow Hibbs.  He was a truck driver for Landstar and member of New Vision Community Church.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years ~ Sandra Adler Hibbs; his daughters, Teresa Jessup and husband Glenn. Tammy Steele and Penny Mullins, all of Russellville; his brother, John A. Hibbs ~ Clay; his sisters, June Branson of Madisonville and Connie Brown of Montgomery, Texas; six grandchildren, Anthony Jessup, Nicki Brown, Alan Inman, Cregan Mullins, Katie Jessup and Marissa Mullins; and seven great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James Douglas Hibbs; his sister, Judith Riggs; and a great-grandson, Eli Jessup.

Funeral services for Sonny Hibbs will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21, at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Bro. Brad Rogers and Bro. Calvin Naylor officiating with burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.  

Visitation at the funeral home will be held Wednesday, from 5-8 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until the service hour of 1.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to New Vision Community Church Building Fund or The American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
