Dennis Paul Appling, 60, of Russellville, passed away Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017 at the Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital in Bowling Green. He was a Logan County native, born Oct. 18, 1956 to the late Winston ‘Buck’ Appling and Jean Insco Appling.
He was a delivery carrier for the Bowling Green Daily News and member and sound man for Greenridge Baptist Church. He was an avid bowler, golfer, Atlanta Braves baseball fan and UK fan.
He is survived by his step-mother, Mary Appling, of Russellville; his brothers, Dickie Appling and wife Linda of Wisconsin and Darrell Appling of Auburn; a special niece, Kim Stanley, Russellville; and several aunts, nieces and nephews.
Graveside services for Dennis Paul Appling will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23, with Bro. Robert Tarrence and Pastor Bill Vaught officiating in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Visitation at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home will be held Friday, from 5-8 p.m. There will be no visitation Saturday at the funeral home before the graveside service.
