Edward Russell Johns, 92, of Coopertown Road, Russellville, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017 at Creekwood Nursing and Rehab in Russellville. He was a Logan County native, born Sept. 11, 1925 to the late Alvin Lee Johns and Stella Hollingsworth Johns. He was a US Army Combat Medic Veteran of the Korean Conflict, a farmer and member of Center Baptist Church, Coopertown Road.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lula Mae Johns; his son, Leslie Johns of Russellville; his daughter, Janice White and husband, Bro. Donnie White, of Russellville; his sister, Mildred Johns Harper of Louisville; his grandchildren, Kristy White, Karen White and Brian Johns; and his great-grandchildren, Tyson White and Briar Johns.
Funeral services for Edward Russell Johns will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 3, at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Bro. Donnie White officiating with burial to follow in the Russellville Memorial Gardens. Visitation at the funeral home will continue Friday from 8 a.m. until the service hour of 11 a.m.
