Eugene Gooch, 90, of Russellville, passed away on Monday, Dec. 25, 2017 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. He was a Logan County native, born March 26, 1927 to the late Thomas Perry Gooch and Pauline White Gooch. He was a Korean War Veteran with the US Marine Corps, a farmer and maintenance person with Emerson Electric. He was a member of First Baptist Church and former deacon. He also loved woodworking.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Gooch of Oregon.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Irene Gooch; his daughter, Darlene Gooch of Russellville; his brother, Robert Gooch of Clarksville; his sisters, Mary Ellen Bentley of Bowling Green and Ann Preske of Evansville;
Funeral services for Eugene Gooch will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 28, at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Harvey, Bro. Joe Ball and Steve Hindman officiating with burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Visitation at the funeral home will be held Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until the service hour.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the Alzheimer’s Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
