G.C. McMillen, age 83, of Daleview Circle, Russellville, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. He was a Logan County native, born May 5, 1930 to the late Guy Porter McMillen and Louise Carpenter McMillen. He was a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation Academy, served as Lieutenant Detective for the Kentucky State Police and Served as Deputy for the Logan County Sheriff’s Department. He loved his devoted dog “Heidi” and was a member of First Baptist Church, Sixth and Main Streets.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years ~ Doris McMillen; his daughters ~ Vicki Coleman and Julie Morgan ~ both of Russellville; three grandchildren ~ Jenna Griffith ~ Russellville, Kelly Chapman ~ Murray, and Ryan Coleman ~ Bowling Green; and three grandchildren ~ Samuel Chapman and Maxwell Chapman ~ both of Murray, and Carlea Coleman and Harrison Coleman~ both of Bowling Green.
Funeral Services for G.C. McMillen, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 5, in Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Bro. Buddy Crabtree officiating and burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will begin Saturday morning at 10 a.m. and will continue until the service hour at 2 p.m.
Donations may be made to First Baptist Church; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
