Cornelia R. Gamble, 93, of Adairville, passed away Friday, Jan. 12, 2018 at Creekwood Place Nursing and Rehab. She was a Logan County native, born Nov. 15, 1924 to the late Vermillion Washington Gamble and Lucy Elizabeth Jones Gamble. She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Herman Baptist Church in Adairville where she served as church secretary for 40 years and was a Sunday School teacher and Sunday School pianist.
She is survived by her son, Clarence Gamble of Louisville; her daughters, Mary Lancaster of Denver and Marian G. Washington of Adairville; two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Cornelia R. Gamble will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Rev. Leroy Fishback officiating with burial to follow in Townsend Grove Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be held Thursday from 11 a.m. until the service hour.
Food may be taken to the church after 2 p.m. on Thursday.
