Wilfred H. ‘Buddy’ Duncan Jr., 87, of Russellville, passed away Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. He was a Logan County native, born June 6, 1930 to the late Wilfred Huson Duncan Sr. and Dorothy Colson Duncan.
He was a University of Kentucky graduate; former owner of Duncan’s Drug Store beginning in 1957, a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of First Baptist Church, 6th and Main Street in Russellville. He served on the Russellville Independent School Board for 18 years and was a member of the Kiwanis Club.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mattie Duncan; his son, David Coleman Duncan and wife Valorie of Bowling Green; his daughter, Debra Duncan Rowe and husband Louis of Hebron; his sister, Evalyn Dorn of Greensboro, N.C.; his sister, Evalyn Dorn of Greensboro, N.D.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Wilfred H. ‘Buddy’ Duncan Jr. will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 19, at First Baptist Church, 6th and Main Street in Russellville with Bro. Joe Ball officiating and burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation at the church will be held Friday beginning at 10 a.m. and lasting until the service hour at 1:00 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the church.
