Barbara Glenn Lowe, 87, formerly of Russellville, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2014 at her home in Louisville.  Barbara was born in Russellville on April 19, 1927, to the late James Hershel Glenn and Gertrude White Glenn. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Stanford F. ‘Joker’ Lowe, her brothers, James Glenn and Leonard (“L. D.”) Glenn, and by her beloved son Stanford G. (“Stan”) Lowe.  Barbara was a long-time employee of Illinois Tool Works (ITW) in Russellville, and was later the receptionist at the Logan County Chamber of Commerce.  She was formerly a member of the First Baptist Church in Russellville, and was, at the time of her death, a member of Jeffersontown Christian Church in Louisville.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Vickie DeShazer (Sam) of Louisville and Lee Ann Thomason (Bill) of Rio Rancho, N. M.; her sister, Myrtle Matthews of Clarksville, Tenn.; her brother, Richard Glenn of Munich, Germany; 4 grandchildren, Elizabeth Appling (Travis) of Bowling Green, Ryan DeShazer (Michele) of Columbus, Ohio, Will DeShazer of Memphis, and Finley Rachel Mucha of Rio Rancho, N. M.; and 5 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service in celebration of Barbara’s life will be held on Saturday, May 3, at 1 p.m. at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Russellville.
