Irene Ahlgrim, 87, of Russellville, Kentucky passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. She was an Indiana native, born Jan. 16, 1931 to the late James Vevar Rider and Mable Elizabeth Scheer Rider.
She was an educator in the Demotte, Ind. School System and was of the Christian faith. She was a member of the Civil War Round Table Club in Clarksville, Tenn., a member of the Red Hat Society and the PastFinders. She was also a member of Alpha Chi Omega and Delphi Historic Society, and she loved her friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Gerald Ahlgrim.
She is survived by her twin sister, Jean Schooler and husband William of Delphi, Ind.; and her nephews, William Bruce and James Gregory, along with their families;
A Celebration of Life for Irene Ahlgrim will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Bro. Tom Thompson officiating. Visitation at the funeral home on Saturday will be held from 11 a.m. until the service hour.
Memorial donations may be made to the Civil War Round Table Club or to the donor’s favorite charity. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
