Shirley Ruth Grayson Ballard, 78 of Lewisburg, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 30, 2018, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.
She was born Friday, Jan. 26, 1940, the daughter of the late Vernon Rhea Grayson and the late Stella Brady Grayson.
She was a member of New Union Baptist Church and the Gideons Auxiliary.
Shirley enjoyed her life as a housewife and helping to take care of children and cooking.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 61 years, Owen David Ballard;her son, James Ballard of Sharon Grove; her daughters, Lorrie Hopper (David) of Russellville, Pam Butler of Pleasant View, Tenn. and Vickie Hughes (Scott) of Eubank, Ky.; her brother, Duane Grayson of Central City; her sister, Elaine Grise of Lewisburg; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Mindy Hopper, and four brothers and four sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 2, at Price Funeral Home, Inc. 252 E. Green Street, Lewisburg, with Bro. Donnie Blick and Bro. Tom Moody officiating. Burial will follow in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will begin after 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 1, at Price Funeral Home, Inc.
