Jay Slaton, 73, of Russellville, passed away Thursday, Nov. 22, 2018 at his home. He was a Logan County native, born July 27, 1945 to the late George Edward Slaton and Macy Hambrick Slaton. He worked as President of Citizens National Bank for many years, then as CEO of South Central Bank Shares. He was a member of Post Oak Baptist Church, served as past president of the Logan County Chamber of Commerce and was a past board member of the Logan Economic Alliance for Development.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marilyn Simmons Slaton; his sons, William Edward Slaton and wife Rosemary of Simpsonville, S.C. and Christopher Jay Slaton and wife Amanda of Bowling Green; his daughter, Lesley Dawn Taylor of Russellville; his grandchildren, Justin Slaton, Catie Slaton and Peyton Taylor; his sister-in-law, Linda Slaton of Russellville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Wendell N. Slaton.
A private service for Jay Slaton will be held at a later time. Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
