Edna Hatchett, 91, of Russellville, passed away on Friday, Jan. 4, 2019 at Logan Memorial Hospital. She was a Simpson County native. born Oct; 29, 1927 to the late Samuel Earl McFadin and Ida Smith McFadin. She was the founder of Hickory Hill Nursery School and co-founder of Hatman Tours with Dorothy Hindman. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Sixth and Main Streets, Russellville, where she was active in the choir. She sang in the deGraffenreid Chorale and volunteered at Friends of the Library.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Ellis Hatchett, her son, Phillip Hatchett, and her granddaughter, Shelly Cohen.
She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Hatchett Cohen of Russellville and Teri Hatchett Hogan of Palos Verdes, Calif.; and her grandchildren, Shawn Cohen of Temple, Ariz. And Terri Ann Fitzgerald of Millwood, Ky.
Memorial services for Edna Hatchett will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at First Baptist Church with Bro. Joe Ball officiating. Visitation at the church will be held Wednesday, beginning at 1 p.m. and lasting until the service hour.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in form of donation to the deGraffenreid Chorale or the Logan County Humane Society. Envelopes will be made available at the church.
