Carolyn Garrett, 84, of Auburn, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019 in Auburn. She was a Logan County native, born May 14, 1934 to the late Joe Morgan Brown and Mary Douglas Gillespie Brown. She was a teacher with the Logan County and Russellville Independent School systems for 30 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church and member of the Logan County Genealogical Society and the Aftermath Club.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Butch Garrett, and sister, Jo Brown.
She is survived by her daughter, Alison Coleman and husband Mark of Russellville; her granddaughters, Leah Colston and husband Drew of Franklin, Tenn., Laura Johnson and husband Travis of Franklin, Ky. and Kelsey Coleman of Russellville.
Funeral services for Carolyn Garrett will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 25, at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Clement officiating with burial to follow in Auburn Cemetery.
Visitation at the funeral home will be held Thursday, Jan. 24, from 5-8 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. until the service hour.
Memorial donations may be made to the First Christian Church or the Logan County Library. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
