Wylna Marshall Beene Clinard, of Adairville, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at NHC Healthcare in Springfield. She was born in Hartsville, Tenn. on March 11, 1934 to the late Aubrey Faust Marshall and Minnie Gregory Marshall. 

After attending two years at Brenau University, a private girls school, she graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and later served on the Nashville Big Orange Club’s Board of Directors. She was a middle school teacher and basketball coach. Wylna was very well known as a local Nashville tour guide, helping start the special events department at Opryland Hotel.

She was also a fashion and wardrobe consultant and volunteered for many groups over her years. Always active in church throughout her life, she attended Belmont Heights Baptist and ended her life attending Adairville Baptist Church where she was chairperson for the Dazzlin’ Diners.

She was preceded in death by husband Bobby Jo Beene.

She is survived by husband, Walter Ray Clinard; her son, Marshall LaClaire Beene and wife Tammy of Murfreesboro; her granddaughter, Aubrey Grace Beene of Nashville; and her sisters-in-law, Georgia Beene Phillips and Joyce Beene Lott, both of Henderson, Tenn.

As an only child growing up, Wylna’s cousins were her brothers and sisters. Later in life, her close friends were more like close family.

Funeral services for Wylna Marshall Beene Clinard will be held at 11 a,m. on Tuesday, April 16, at Adairville Baptist Church with Bro. Randall Rogers, Bro. Michael Edwards and Bro. Mark Bond officiating with burial at the Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville. 

Visitation at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home will be held Monday, April 15, from 5-8 p.m. and at Adairville Baptist Church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the service hour of 11.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hope Lodge Nashville. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.
