Ashley ‘Cocoa’ Kees Collier passed away Monday, April 29, 2019 at Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green. She was a Logan County native, born Dec. 8, 1983 to the late James Lewis Kees and Sheila Epley Kees. She was a devoted caregiver and attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was a rugged basketball player.
In addition to working with her own children’s sports and academics, she coached youth sports and then became a Russellville Middle School girls’ basketball coach; she was also a leader in the Stevenson Elementary School PTO.
She is survived by her husband, Reginald Spencer Collier II; her son, Reginald Spencer Collier III; her daughter, A’miyah Nicole Collier; her grandmother, Marie Epley of Russellville; her step-sons, Avrey Collier and Noah Whittinghill, both of Bowling Green, and Leron Collier and Jamie of Oxford, Ohio; her step-daughters, Taiyah Coller and Keela Collier, both of Bowling Green; her sisters, Shannon Leavell and Travis and Brittany Kees and William, all of Russellville; her half-brothers, Trevor Nourse of Louisville and Cartrell Nourse and Phillip West and Tiffany, all of Russellville; her half-sisters, Shelly Bray of Russellville, Rena Carmichael and Jazz of St. Port Luci, Fla., and Sheena Nourse and Nina Nourse, both of Clarksville; her step-grandchildren, Nehemiah Collier, Elijah and Enoch Whittinghill, and Adelyn Williams; her nieces, Jaylah Kees, Jae’da Poindexte and Josslyn Poindexter; several other nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend April Bradshaw.
Funeral services for Ashley ‘Cocoa’ Kees Collier will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, at the deGraffenried Auditorium with Pastor Fred Fort officiating with burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation at the deGraffenried Auditorium will be held Friday, May 3 from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. until the service hour.
Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Reginald Collier III or Amiyah Collier Fund. Envelopes will be available at the auditorium.
